Y.Y. from Chimpanzee Recording Studios kindly paid me a visit to unravel some of the knots that were preventing me from using the recording software I'd purchased months ago. The manual for the program is several thousand pages long. It's still like astrophysics to me; but at least, after four hours of downloads, tests, trails, and errors, we managed to clear aside the compatibility issues and put a few rudimentary tracks down so that I can see how the software works. I'm excited to know that I can probably use it to good effect. I anticipate getting little sleep over the next few weeks as I try to gain proficiency. The goal is to have at least one song finished and its video shot and uploaded before mid-August.
Chimpanzee Studios have been very supportive of us so far. The owner, S.O., came to see our first show, and we hope to record all our rhythm section tracks there, in addition to having them master the album. His and the engineer's support has been precious.
